The Location...

Location of the Cogne Gran Paradiso Explorers

Our departure point for many of our activities is the little mountain village Cogne.

Where is Cogne?

It's the final destination at one of the many valleys of Valle d'Aosta. This extends at the north-west of Italy, from the north of Turin till the base of Mt. Blanc.

Cogne is located at an altitude of 1534 m, with 1370 inhabitants, it is rather manageable and yet it offers a very good infrastructure and connection to Aosta.

The village is located in the Gran Paradiso National Park, this was former a royal hunting ground, until it was awarded to the National Park in 1922. This is certainly one of the reasons why the last alpine ibexes survived here, which were otherwise eradicated in the entire Alpine regions. Since then, these have also been part of the park's landmark and can be observed here in the wild. But also for the summit of Gran Paradiso, with 4061m the highest mountain in Italy, you have a great view.

Cogne is  a quite great place, which opens up a unique mountain world, for the connoisseur of nature as well as for the ambitious mountaineers!

For our Gran Paradiso Mountain Camp, the location is also very well located, for all activities we are offering, there are best opportunities in the immediate area.
